Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026

GarageMate ("the app") is a local-first garage management app. This policy explains what data the app handles and where it goes. In short: we do not run servers that store your garage data, and we never sell or share your data.

Data you enter

Customer names, phone numbers, email addresses, vehicle details, job cards, invoices, payments, inventory, your garage logo and signature are stored only in a database on your device. We (the developer) have no access to it.

Backup and sync (optional)

If you turn on sync, the app stores a copy, sent over an encrypted connection, of your garage data in your own Google Drive (in a hidden app-data folder that only GarageMate can read) or your own iCloud account. This copy belongs to your account; we cannot see it. On Android the app asks Google for access to its app-data folder only (drive.appdata), not to your other Drive files. You can turn sync off at any time; Settings → Delete all data erases the device copy and lets you erase the cloud copy too.

Purchases

GarageMate Pro is sold through Google Play or the Apple App Store. Payments are processed entirely by Google or Apple; we never receive your card details. The app only checks with the store whether you own Pro.

App configuration

The app uses Google Firebase Remote Config to receive settings such as update notices and the free job card limit. Firebase uses a random installation identifier for this. It is not linked to your identity or your garage data and is not used for advertising. See Firebase privacy.

What we do not do

Permissions

Internet (Remote Config, purchases and your own cloud sync), notifications (low-stock alerts), and photo/file picking only when you choose a logo, signature or Excel file.

Sharing invoices

When you share an invoice by email, WhatsApp or another app, you send it yourself using that app; its own privacy policy applies.

Children

GarageMate is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13.

Deleting your data

Use Settings → Delete all data, or uninstall the app. If sync was on, choose to erase the cloud copy as well, or remove it from Google Drive → Settings → Manage apps.

Changes

We will update this page if the app's data practices change.
